Toyota RAV4 Tire Pressure Light Reset

Follow the TPMS reset procedure for 2006-2012 Toyota RAV4 models.

Before You Start

Verify the spare tire pressure.

The ignition must be ON before starting the reset procedure.

Inflate all four main tires and the spare tire on the rear door to the pressure listed on the vehicle's door jamb sticker.

Note: A low spare tire can cause the TPMS warning light to remain illuminated on this model.

Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.

Locate the small, round SET button under the steering wheel dashboard or inside the glovebox.

Press and hold the SET button until the TPMS warning light on the dashboard blinks slowly 3 times.

Check: Drive the vehicle above 20 mph for several minutes. The TPMS warning light should turn off.

Note: If the TPMS light flashes for about 1 minute before remaining illuminated, it may indicate a failed tire pressure sensor battery.

Note: This model does not have a digital TPMS reset menu; the reset is performed using the physical SET button.

These models use a physical TPMS SET button rather than a digital reset menu.

Check the tire pressure of all four road tires and the spare tire. Inflate them to the pressure listed on the vehicle’s door jamb sticker.

Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine.
Locate the small, round SET button under the steering wheel dashboard or inside the glovebox.
Press and hold the SET button until the TPMS warning light blinks slowly 3 times.
Drive the vehicle above 20 mph for several minutes.
Check that the TPMS warning light turns off.

If the TPMS light flashes for about one minute before remaining illuminated, the system may have a malfunction, such as a failed sensor battery.
