Tesla Model Y Tire Pressure Light Reset

Follow the TPMS reset procedure for 2020-2025 Tesla Model Y models.

Before You Start

Ensure all tires are inflated to the PSI listed on the driver's side B-pillar sticker.

Tire pressures only update on the screen once the vehicle is in motion.

TPMS Reset Procedure

Inflate all tires to the recommended cold pressure while the vehicle is parked.

Drive the vehicle above 15 mph (25 km/h) for approximately 10 minutes.

Check: The TPMS sensors should automatically communicate with the vehicle and update the tire pressures on the Service screen.

If you have changed wheel sizes or rotated the tires, select Controls > Service > Wheel & Tire > Tire Configuration to update the vehicle's profile.

Warning: The touchscreen may take up to 2 minutes of driving to refresh the displayed tire pressure after adding air. Do not keep adding air simply because the displayed number does not change immediately.

Warning: Some high-powered USB devices plugged into the center console may interfere with the TPMS signal. If sensors are missing, try unplugging USB accessories.

Notes

Note: The Model Y uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) tire pressure sensors rather than the older 433 MHz RF sensors used by some other vehicles.

Note: You do not normally need a TPMS tool. The vehicle can recognize compatible Tesla-approved sensors automatically during a short drive.

Note: For advanced users, a 'Reset Learned Tire Values' option is available within Service Mode, but this is rarely needed for a standard tire pressure reset.

Tesla Model Y TPMS Reset

This guide covers the TPMS procedure for the 2020\u20132025 Tesla Model Y.

Unlike vehicles with a physical TPMS reset button, the Model Y can automatically detect and learn compatible tire pressure sensors while driving.

Before You Start

Make sure all four tires are inflated to the recommended cold pressure listed on the driver’s side B-pillar sticker.

Keep in mind that tire pressure readings update while the vehicle is moving, so the displayed pressure may not immediately reflect a recent adjustment.

TPMS Procedure

Inflate all tires to the recommended cold pressure while the vehicle is parked.
Drive the vehicle above 15 mph (25 km/h) for approximately 10 minutes.
Check the tire pressures on the vehicle’s Service screen as the TPMS sensors communicate with the vehicle.
If you changed wheel sizes or rotated the tires, go to Controls > Service > Wheel & Tire > Tire Configuration and update the vehicle’s configuration.
