Model Y Tire Pressure Light Reset

If your low tire pressure warning light is on after inflating your tires, follow this verified reset procedure for 2020-2025 models.

Before resetting the light

  • Ensure all tires are inflated to the PSI listed on the driver’s side B-pillar sticker (standard is usually 42 PSI for Model Y).
  • Note that tire pressures only update on the screen once the vehicle is in motion.

Inflate all tires to the recommended cold pressure while the vehicle is parked.

Drive the vehicle above 15 mph (25 km/h) for approximately 10 minutes.

The TPMS sensors will automatically 'handshake' with the vehicle and update the pressures on the 'Service' screen.

If you have changed wheel sizes or rotated tires, tap 'Controls' > 'Service' > 'Wheel & Tire' > 'Tire Configuration' to update the vehicle's profile.

Pressure Lag: The touchscreen may take up to 2 minutes of driving to refresh the display after you've added air. Do not keep adding air if the number doesn't change instantly.
USB Interference: Tesla warns that some high-powered USB devices plugged into the center console can interfere with the TPMS signal. If sensors are 'missing', try unplugging USB accessories.
